I’ve lost my job, like so many others, yet find myself with a heightened craving for beautiful things I can’t afford. Sadly, my days of wealth and excess are over (Ed. note – previous salary as a writer/editor probably boiled down to about minimum wage when calculated hourly).
Having a frightfully low (or nonexistent) income doesn’t get rid of one’s inclination to swoon over pretty things, even if it’s just to look. I guess it’s time to become even more resourceful and create a new version of the good life on the string.
