I’ve got Mexico en mi cabeza lately. I’ve always been addicted to the culture’s spirit and vibrant aesthetic – to me, it’s a society built on celebration and fervor, and their country is just gorgeous. Also, catching a mariachi band on the subway ranks in my top 6 favorite things about NYC, along with brunch, cheap nail salons, friendly transvestites, street dogs and North Moore between Hudson and Greenwich at sunset. But, I digress.
Flights to Tulum, Mexico dip below $300, while casitas on the beach go for as little as $80 a night, set steps from spectacular shores and of course, the Mayan ruins nearby. Whether it’s just a taco night fiesta at home, or you can put together a trip to an affordable paradise, go Mexican.

Wear a Puebla Dress to your party. The kids’ sizes run very large and look great after your drycleaner shortens it up!
