I’m looking forward to pimping out my (rooftop) patio this summer. Sitting around outside with friends is sheer perfection, in my opinion. Surprisingly, I’ve actually been blessed with varying degrees of outdoor space in this city – from a fire escape on the Upper East Side, to a courtyard in TriBeCa, to a backyard (!) in the East Village and now, a Brooklyn rooftop overlooking KFC and the Williamsburg Bank Building.
It’s been a longtime vow of mine to outfit these spaces nicely, as opposed to just slapping together recycled/trash furniture. Being outdoors, it gets dirty easily, and come summer, gets as much play as the stuff inside, so can be worth it. Below, some picks for an Arch Digest-worthy open-air pad.
Pottery Barn Hammock, $39-$149
Pearl River Dahlia String Lights, $21.50
West Elm Outdoor Drape, $49-$59
CB2 Sparky Fire Pit, $249
