Whether or not you’re hitting the beach for Memorial Day Weekend, I hope you get the chance to relax under nice weather. Make sure you’ve got a good book in tow! I listed some below, OR, you could follow this economical advice from New York Magazine.

I also highly recommend getting a Barnes & Noble membership. It’s $25 a year, and saves you a couple of dollars every time you buy books and offers regular discount coupons – well worth it if you’re a book buyer like me.

Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy – if you want to get wrapped up in a heavy, dramatic and dark love story, read my all-time favorite book. If it feels daunting for summer haze, there’s a guide to follow here.

The Architecture of Happiness by Alain de Botton – NOT a self-help book but rather, a sublimely written philosophical introduction to architecture, design and how beauty connects to our happiness. Gorgeous and quick!
