Alexander McQueen
I’m kicking myself for foolishly waiting until this weekend to see “Savage Beauty” at the Met, and now I’m pretty sure I’m not going to swing it—five-hour+ lines yesterday, and it’s rainy. And I have a head cold.
As an insufficient consolation, I’ve been dreamily looking around at the various photos I’ve got tagged around the web.
Did you see the show?

“[Though cutting, I try] to draw attention to our unrelenting desire for perfection. The body parts that I focus on change depending on the inspirations and references for the collection and what silhouettes they demand.”

pinteresting
It’s not too new, but since I discovered Pinterest, I’ve been obsessed. I’ve always loved covering my walls and surfaces with tear-outs, and Pinterest puts it all in one neat, virtual space.
I saw a cutesy little graphic on there that sums it up perfectly: Duh, Pinning!

Craig’s Short List
This craigslist chair is rad! It looks like it’s in fine shape (maybe a little saggy in the seat), and leopard print on a classic Queen Anne silhouette is so perfect.
BEES at Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Technically, I’m allergic to bees, but for some reason, I’m also strangely fascinated by them and in love love love with honey. This Saturday is the Bee Party at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and I’ll hopefully find a good-sport-friend to take a field trip with me for music and honey.

9 by Design
I love the show 9 by Design — Cortney Novogratz is awesome, and the couple’s design style for Sixx Design is fresh (like, fresh-clean-new and fresh-cheeky). Not to gush, but I even like their parenting style, and their kids are gorgeous. OK, I’ll stop being strange about it and just list my favorite pictures. The girls’ room is beyond insane.

india
Doesn’t this picture look like one of those multimedia-global-communications commercials that start with, “the world is moving at the speed of life….” and then do some kind of montage spanning all the world’s cultures in a 30-second spot? Here you’ve got Muslims and Hindis and one sleepy Gauri.
Otherwise, India. There’s a lot to say about and see in India, but pink and orange are big ones. Sigh.

romper copies
I’d posted on my bulletin board the editorial image of a dancer in the Bottega Veneta cotton romper (I totally forget which magazine) because it was so pretty, and then saw it again on Gisele in Vogue. I can think of several reasons why I’d never in a million years actually wear it, but if I changed my mind, I spotted a total copy at Topshop. Check it out!
